Surfana is a surf and goodlife collective founded in the summer of 2007. The motivation of the collective is based on a desire to live a life based on love, passion and freedom. This good life ideology soon took flight which resulted in more members & several surf schools, camps and surf trips around the world. In 2013 it was time to celebrate and the first official Surfana Festival edition became a fact!

• Where & When? Surfana Festival 2023 takes place from at the 8-9-10 of September at the campsite De Lakens, Zeeweg 60, 2051 EC, overveen

• Where & When can I get my wristband? You will get your wristband at the De Lakens Reception - simply bring your digital ticket to scan in at the entrance to receive your festival wristband.
• The opening times of the reception are: Thursday 16:00-21:00, Friday 09:00-21:00, Saturday -9:00-21:00, Sunday 09:00-21:00

• Festival Terrain opening times? Friday 12:00 - 00:00, Saturday 10:00 - 00:00, Sunday 10:00 - 23:00

• Campsite check-in times: Thursday 16:00-21:00, Friday 10:00-21:00, Saturday 9:00-24:00, Sunday 9:00-21:00

• Can I bring my Kids? Sure! You can bring your little ones up to 6 years old for free. Kids up to 17 years old that stay the weekend need a kids weekend ticket.

• Can I walk in the Dunes? It is not allowed to enter the dunes by climbing/ or passing any of the fences. The dunes are fragile and part of a protected nature reserve, so please stay on the paths and respect this rule. If you want some privacy for a ‘nightly walk’ we can advise the beach!

• Can I bring my dogs or any other pets? No, the camping has a strict policy which doesn’t allow dogs or other pets.

• General: We strongly recommend using public transport to get to Surfana Festival as parking spaces are expensive. Additionally, travelling by public transport is easy and eco-friendly.

• How to arrive via public transport: Take the train to either Haarlem CS or Zandvoort aan Zee and then catch the bus 81 for a short ride to the bus stop called "De Lakens".

• International travel via public transport: To facilitate international travel routes via train to the festival we are collaborating with choo-choo train. Find the easiest route to travel to Surfana Festival throughout international borders.

• How to arrive via Bike: Zeeweg, the national route to the campsite is a beautiful bike ride to the campsite. Grab your own bike or rent a OV bike to & ejoy the ride. You can park your bike at the campsite.

• How to arrive with a scooter: Rent a Felix scooter to have a fun ride to the festival. You can park your scooter at the boulevard right next to the beach.

• How to arrive via car: Get dropped off by friends or Family - 'Kiss & Ride' at the campsite reception or carpool with friends, rent a Bla Bla, take an Uber, car or look into other car sharing options. Read more about car sharing options here.

• Parking at Surfana Festival: There are no dedicated parking spots on the campsite - read more about parking options outside the terrain here.

• Returning home from the festival: Take bus 81 back to your preferred station. Please note that there are no night buses. The last bus towards Haarlem departs on weekdays at 00:00 and at 00:30 on weekends. If you miss the bus, you can take an Uber or taxi. To make things even more convenient, use the OV9292 app.

• Can I book accommodation? Absolutely! Booking for accommodation at De Lakens will open soon. Additionally, there will be a limited number of Sheddies available for booking. Stay tuned for more information on securing your mini vacation.

• Is there family camping? We have a dedicated Family Camping  area which we can guide you to when you check-in at the festival.

• Check-in and check out times times. You will have access to the campsite from 4pm on Thursday 5 Sept and must leave (no trace) by 10am on Monday 9 Sept.

• When should I leave the campsite on Monday? On Monday 10:00AM the campsite needs to be cleared.

• Can I stay at the campsite before or after the festival? You can stay at the campsite before or after the festival if you want. You do have to book a camping spot through DeLakens if you want to stay longer.

• Can I camp together with my friends? Camping spots are filled on a first come first serve. We do not allow you to reserve or hold any camping areas. If you want to share a space with your friends or family please make sure you arrive together to be placed close to each other.

• What is the check-in process? Check-in for the festival will take place at the reception of Camping de Lakens, the first building you'll encounter upon entering the camping area. After scanning your tickets, you will be provided with a wristband, granting you access to the festival. If you have a weekend ticket with camping access, this wristband will also allow you entry to the campsite. Once you have completed the check-in process, our team will guide you to your designated camping spot, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable start to your festival experience.

• Can I bring my dogs or any other pets? No, the camping has a strict policy which doesn’t allow dogs or other pets.

• Can I bring my own Food & Beverage: If you have a weekend camping ticket and plan to stay at the campsite, you are permitted to bring your own food and drinks to enjoy at your tent or camper van. However, cooking at your tent is only allowed using small camping gas pits. Please refrain from having open fires or using barbecues at the campsite. Once inside the festival grounds, you will be delighted by a wide selection of delicious food and beverages provided for your enjoyment. We kindly request that you do not bring your own food into the festival area, as we have a variety of culinary offerings available to cater to your tastes.
• Fire/Gas/Campfire stoves - Regarding fire and cooking equipment, small gas pits are permitted at the campsite. However, for safety reasons, open fires, campfires, and barbecues are not allowed. Please adhere to this guideline to ensure a secure and enjoyable environment for all festival attendees.

• Day tickets: The date for day tickets will be announced within the next few months. Keep an eye on our Instagram for updates.
• The first tier of day tickets will cost €37.5 (Fri), €49,5 (Sat) €32,5 (Sun), Kids tickets will cost € 15,5 (Fri + Sun), 22,5 (Sat).
• Surfana Festival offers day tickets that are exclusively valid for the specific day of purchase. Please note that these day tickets cannot be interchanged or swapped for different days. Day tickets do not include camping, or sharing a tent. In order to camp you need a weekend ticket.

• Full Weekend tickets: A weekend ticket includes full access to the festival on 6, 7, 8 Sept. Additionally, it includes a camping spot; however, attendees are required to bring their own camping gear.
• You will have access to the campsite from 4pm on Thursday 5 Sept and must leave (no trace) by 10am on Monday 9 Sept.

• Campervan tickets: If you want to sleep in your campervan you need a full weekend ticket plus a campervan ticket. A Campervan Ticket does not give you festival access - you will need to buy a festival ticket for each person in your van in addition to your van ticket. CARAVANS ARE NOT ALLOWED!

• Which campervans can I bring to the festival with a van life ticket? There are no maximum size limitations or specific restrictions on the campervan you can bring to the festival. However, trailers, including caravans, are not permitted due to their space inefficiency and the additional vehicle they require. Each individual attending the festival, regardless of the number of occupants in the van, must possess a full weekend ticket. While camping spots are available with electricity, this amenity must be shared with other occupants on the same spot and cannot be reserved in advance.

• Kids tickets: Children up to the age of 5 can enjoy free admission to the festival! For kids aged 6 to 17 years old, a ticket is required, and they must be accompanied by their parents. Two ticket options are available for children: a full weekend ticket or day tickets.

• Help! My Surfana Festival tickets are lost! Don’t worry about a thing, every little thing is gonna be alright. Just enter the email address you used to purchase the tickets here. Or search your mailbox for “Surfana Festival - Tickets.” There they are!

• Do I need to print my tickets? Let's save some trees! You don't need to print your tickets. Please ensure you have downloaded your ticket to your mobile phone before arriving.

• Can I get a refund, change or resell my ticket? We do not refund, upgrade or change any festival tickets. You can always make someone else happy and pass on your ticket by selling it with our official ticket partner ticketswap.

• Clinic Program at Surfana Festival: At Surfana Festival we offer a wide range of workshops and activities for everyone to play, explore, grow and learn. You can check out our full clinic programme here!

• Are the clinics included in the tickets? We offer a number of free clinics on a walk-in basis, so no need to register. However most workshops require a fee, these can be booked in advance through the booking website to secure your spot.

• How can I book the clinics? You can easily book clinics online through our website. As workshops tend to be in high demand, we strongly recommend reserving your preferred workshops in advance to secure your spot. For any remaining workshop spots, you can visit the info point on the festival ground, where bookings will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. *Please note that clinics can be booked online until Thursday, September 7th, at 12:00.

• Breakfast concert:We are happy to announce that we will have breakfast concerts again - You can book it here!

• How can I find the Location of my booked clinic? You will recieve an email one day before your clinic starts. In that email you will find the exact time and location of your booked clinic. You can check out the site map on site to find out where the location is and how to get there. If you have trouble finding the clinics you can stop by at one of our info points for assistance.

• Can I rent a surfboard? You can rent Surfboards at Mifune - we rent them out on a first come, first serve basis.

• What do I need to bring for a clinic? Rest assured that all the materials required for the clinics will be provided. Nevertheless, if you tend to feel the cold easily, we highly recommend dressing appropriately and bringing an extra blanket, especially for the relaxing clinics. Your comfort and enjoyment during the event are our top priority, and we want to ensure you have a pleasant experience throughout.

• Can I borrow / rent / buy yoga mats for the clinics at the festival? Definitely. There will be fantastic new yoga matts to rent, the price of these is already included in your yoga clinic fee. If you'd like to have your own practice during the festival, we highly recommend bringing your own mat or a towel.

• Can I cancel a clinic? After you booked your time and date it's possible to reschedule or cancel your clinic up to one day before the scheduled time slot. Any cancellations made after that time won't be processed and you won't be eligible for a refund.

• Can I reschedule a clinic? You can reschedule a clinic up until 1 day before the clinic starts. You can simply log into your viking account via the link in your booking confirmation and reschedule your clinic.

• Good to know about the weather: The weather along the dutch coast can be unpredicatable. Make sure to pack some warm clothing & a rainjacket.

• Food at Surfana Festival: We have a delicious food lineup with various vegan and vegetarians dishes on our festival terrain for you. Check out the food trucks present at Surfana Festival here.

• Allergies & diets: If you have allergies or special diets please check in with the food vendors before getting your food.

• Disability access: Most parts of the festival site are accesible with a wheelchair. You will find miva toilets on the terrain as well as a little podium for a good view durign the concerts at Lucy's stage.

• Lost & found: Lost and Found during the Festival will be gathered at the merch, info, locker point on the festival grounds. We will post all missing items on Instagram and our Facebook event after the festival. If you find your missing item there you can either come pick it up at the Surfana Surfcamp or ask us to mail it to you.

• Can I charge my Phone? We don’t have any dedicated charging points at the festival grounds, however there are some power points on the campsite for a quick power-nap for your phone. Take note: You need a CEE adapter to use the electricity from the campsite.

• Reusables: Our food court will exclusively run with Resuables. Please make sure you hand them in at our Zero Waste Lounge once you enjoyed your delicious goodies. Read more about how the system works.

• Cup System: You will recieve a cup token with your wristband. You can hand in the cup token at the bar in return for a cup. Return the cup to the bar to receive a token for your next drink. Keep your cup, don’t pay for one. Lose your cup you pay 1.5,- for the next cup. Tokens cannot be exchanged for cash.

• Water points: There are several free water points to fill up your reusable water bottle on the campsite on the festival terrain.

• Cash, Card or Coins? We work with a cashless system - all you need is your bank card. We do not accept any cash onsite.

• Can I take pictures? Absolutely, you are welcome to bring your own camera and video camera to capture some memorable snapshots during the festival. However, for websites and businesses intending to take professional pictures for commercial use, we kindly request that they seek permission from the festival organisers before the event commences. Respecting this policy will ensure proper coordination and adherence to any necessary guidelines for commercial photography at the festival. • Drug Policy: Surfana Festival is mainly about enjoying life in a natural and aware state. If you disagree with this vision, we kindly ask you to seek the party elsewhere.

• Is first aid available? Yes there is first aid on site.

• After Hours:Kindly be aware that a nightly noise curfew will be enforced on the campsite starting at 22:00. As the campsite caters to families, we kindly request that you respect your fellow campers by keeping noise to a minimum during nighttime hours. If you wish to continue singing and chatting after 22:00, we suggest heading to the beach, where you can enjoy your evening without disturbing others. Your cooperation will help maintain a peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere for all campsite visitors.
